FAQ

Names, answered

What about ENS?+
ENS is great. Sudo names interoperate with it — your .sudo name can mirror your .eth, and Sudo resolves both natively. We add subname economics, brand controls and on-chain profile records ENS doesn't ship by default.
Can I change my name later?+
Yes. Mint a new one and set it as primary in profile settings. Old names stay yours and remain tradeable.
What if I forget to renew?+
60-day grace period before a name returns to the registry. We send wallet-level reminders 30 / 7 / 1 day out.
Are there reserved names?+
Single-character names and recognizable brands are reserved or premium-priced. Verified brands can claim their name via the brand-protection process.
What about offensive names?+
Anyone can mint anything that resolves on-chain. Sudo's product surfaces follow guideline-based content moderation, so an abusive name may not display in client UI.
Does the name expire if I lose my wallet?+
It stays minted to your address. If you regain access via social recovery you regain the name. Otherwise, it sits in your wallet until renewal lapses.
